History of Brgy. Asuncion (Pacu)

                   Long ago the place of Asuncion is not yet Asuncion, it was just called Pacu. It was named last 70 years as Asuncion because most of the people living in this place is a Roman Catholic, they devoted Mother Mary of Asuncion. Supposed to be, the date of the anniversary of Brgy. Asuncion was the date of the birthday of Our Beloved Mother Mary but the priest of this place changed the date to have their own fiesta. The people living in Brgy. Asuncion was a Warrior-like yet loving and caring people.     

        Brgy. Asuncion also known as one of the biggest barangay in Maasin City. This barangay was one of the popular location of different provincial event like Founding Anniversary of Southern Leyte, Girls Scout Camp and etc. They say that Brgy. Asuncion had a big population because of a wide space. This barangay is a quite popular barangay in whole Maasin City.

 of the availability of goods and necessities.                              

-Lot of opportunities for the people’s livelihood.

-Lack of space that's why the houses are too

close to each other.

-Lot of squatters.

-Lot of competitors because of many

 business competing.

 demand by others.
